Stuart
Kewley received his Honours Degree in Political Science from
McMaster University,
Ontario, Canada in 1984. In 1989 he received
an MSC in Irish Political Studies
at the Queen's University Belfast
and then did an MPhil and PhD in International
Relations at Corpus
Christi College, Cambridge.
From
1996-2002 Stuart worked as the Director of the Postgraduate
Diploma Course
in European Studies at Oxford University's Department for
Continuing Education
(OUDCE). Whilst at OUDCE, Stuart acted as the
Oxford co-ordinator for MBA
seminar programmes for Pepperdine and
George Mason Universities in the United
States. He was also the
Director of the Oxford Visiting Scholars' Programme
in European
Studies and from 1998 until 2002 acted as an advisor for the European
Commission in setting up a West European Studies Centre in Tomsk, Siberia.
Stuart maintains
his links with Oxford through OUDCE and his role
as a project manager for
the Europaeum at Oxford and also the Oxford co-ordinator for the GMU's School
of Public Policy Summer school with Mansfield College, Oxford.
In
July 2002, Stuart left Oxford to take up a post as a lecturer in International
Business the Canterbury Business School, The University of Kent. From September
2003, he took up a new post as senior lecturer in International Business and Strategy
at the Bristol Business School, The University of the West of England.
Stuart
Kewley's research specialism is Japan's political and
economic relationship
with the European Union. His other interests include
the economic integration
of the EU including enlargement issues, the WTO
especially the issues concerning
China's recent accession. His
