George Mason’s School of Public Policy has been carrying out ITS research ever since ISTEA first established a federal ITS policy in 1991.  There are two ITS programs: the ITS Implementation Research Center, sponsored by the Research and Innovative Technology Administration, and ITS Integration Research, sponsored by FHWA.
